Tips for Navigating Tallinn
Arriving in Tallinn
Once you are in Tallinn, public transportation is very helpful.
If you need directions you can use Google Maps, which works very well in Tallinn.
You are required to purchase a Green “Tallinna Transport” card so that you can use buses and trams. Pass for 1 day – 5.50€, 3 days – 9.00€, 5 days – 11.00€.
If you arrive at the Airport (Lennujaam):
Take the #2 or #15 bus into the city center. They have drop offs near Old town (where the hostels are). To get to Fat Margaret’s Hostel you can take the #2 or #5 tram to be dropped off next to the hostel. Munkenhof Hostel is more of a walk from the city center.
If you arrive at the Sea Harbor:
Depending on when you arrive and which location you are staying at there are many buses to the city center. We recommend you rely on google maps. You can also walk, it is only about a 20 minute walk.
If you arrive at the Bus Station (Bussijaam):
Hop on the #2 or #4 trams to go directly to the city center for about 5 minutes. You can also take the the #2 or #67 bus, but will have a bit of a farther walk.
